The moment a new block is found, any in-progress searching is aborted because it won't produce anything useful. i started mining on nicehash recently and i switched to their version of sgminer. works great, more stable than the really old cgminer i was using, but it pops up "stratum requested work restart" fairly frequently, maybe 3-4 times per minute, sometimes more.
